The Housing Authority of St. Mary’s County, Maryland (HASMC) is an independent, non-profit private entity created to address the need for low-income housing in St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
HASMC is governed by a seven member Board of Commissioners that is appointed by the Commissioners of St. Mary’s County. The Executive Director of HASMC is appointed by the Board of Commissioners and serves as the Secretary to the Board.
HASMC operations are primarily funded by two sources: rental units and a federal subsidy through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Additionally, some programs may be supported by various grant monies.
